Receiving issues can be fixed by having the people who are sending to you, send directly to your address (@textnow.me) rather then replying your message.
Your "username"@textnow.me address can be found within the app by tapping the @ icon and selecting "Texting Address"
Photo sending issues typically arise when your messages are being blocked. Please reboot your modem and WiFi router; you will no longer be considered spam as your external IP will change during this process.
If this does not help then you may be on one of our unsupported picture messaging carriers.
